Regular washing prevents dirt, insects, road grime and other contamination from remaining on the film for long periods. Looking after the surface properly can also help maintain the appearance of the film over time.
Hand Washing Is Usually the Best Option
A careful hand wash gives you the greatest control.
Use a suitable automotive shampoo together with clean wash media and avoid scrubbing aggressively around the edges of the film.
Where possible, rinse loose dirt away before touching the paint or PPF. This reduces the chance of dragging contamination across the surface.
Can You Pressure Wash PPF?
A pressure washer can be used, but technique matters.
Avoid holding the nozzle extremely close to the film and do not concentrate high-pressure water directly into exposed edges or areas that have already been damaged.
