PPF Guy is the studio built by Johnny Lam, a Paint Protection Film specialist whose approach was shaped in Hong Kong and brought to Bicester in 2023. The cars matter, of course. But the business has always been about more than film, panels and perfect edges. It is about the people who trust Johnny with something they care about, the conversations that happen around the workshop, and the relationships that grow from doing careful work properly.
FROM HONG KONG TO BICESTER.
Johnny spent years building his experience in vehicle detailing, vinyl wrapping and Paint Protection Film in Hong Kong. The technical side mattered, but so did the discipline behind it: preparation before application, patience around difficult areas and knowing when a result was genuinely finished rather than simply finished enough.
In 2023, Johnny and his wife moved to Oxfordshire. PPF Guy grew from that move — not as an attempt to build the biggest workshop possible, but as a way to bring the same hands-on approach to customers in Bicester and the surrounding area.
Since then, the studio has become a meeting point for customers, fellow installers, industry contacts and people who simply enjoy cars. That mix is an important part of what PPF Guy has become.

A NEW HOME
Johnny and his wife relocated to the UK, bringing that experience into a new automotive community and establishing PPF Guy in Bicester.
STILL HANDS-ON
The studio is growing, more people are becoming part of the business, but Johnny remains closely involved in the cars, the customers and the standard of the work.

Cars arrive at PPF Guy for different reasons. Some are brand new. Some have been owned for years. Some are everyday transport and others are the cars their owners have waited a long time to buy.
What matters to Johnny is understanding why the owner wants the car protected before deciding what the job should look like. That may mean comprehensive coverage, a carefully chosen high-impact package, or simply being honest when a customer does not need more than that.
As the team develops, that is the culture PPF Guy wants to keep: careful work, straightforward advice, and a workshop where customers can actually speak to the people doing the job.
