TERMS &
CONDITIONS.
These terms explain how quotations, bookings, payments, cancellations, vehicle condition, Paint Protection Film installation and aftercare are handled when you use PPF Guy.
These Terms & Conditions apply to services supplied by JLCA Ltd trading as PPF Guy. They are intended to be clear and fair. Nothing in these terms removes or limits any rights you have under UK consumer law.
ABOUT THESE TERMS
PPF Guy provides vehicle protection and detailing services, including Paint Protection Film installation. Our studio is at Unit 2, Grange Farm, Godington, Bicester, Oxfordshire OX27 9AF.
A contract is formed when we accept your booking or otherwise confirm that we will provide the agreed service. Your quotation, booking confirmation, any written specification of work and these terms together form the agreement between us.
If there is any conflict between these general terms and a specific written quotation or booking confirmation, the specific written terms agreed for that booking will take priority.
QUOTATIONS & PRICING
Quotes are based on the information available when the quote is prepared, including the vehicle make, model, requested coverage and any photographs or condition information supplied to us.
Unless we state otherwise, a quote is an estimate for the work described. If we discover something that materially changes the scope of work — for example, previously undisclosed damage, poor prior repairs, unsuitable existing film or modifications that affect installation — we will contact you before carrying out additional chargeable work.
Prices may change before a booking is accepted. Once we have accepted a booking, we will not increase the agreed price simply because our general prices later change. Any variation to the agreed work or price will be discussed with you first.
BOOKINGS & DEPOSITS
We may ask for a deposit to secure an appointment, order material or reserve workshop time. If a deposit is required, we will tell you the amount and the relevant cancellation terms before you pay it.
Please make sure the vehicle details and requested coverage shown on your booking confirmation are correct. If anything changes, tell us as soon as possible.
Appointment times are estimates of when work will begin or be completed. PPF installation requires preparation, fitting and finishing, and some vehicles may take longer than expected. We will keep you informed if there is a material delay.
CANCELLATION & RESCHEDULING
If you need to cancel or move an appointment, please give us as much notice as possible. We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for routine cancellations or rescheduling.
Where we have suffered a genuine, reasonable loss because of a late cancellation — for example, non-returnable material ordered specifically for the booking or workshop time that cannot reasonably be reallocated — we may deduct or charge a reasonable amount reflecting that loss. We will not impose an arbitrary or excessive cancellation charge.
Distance or off-premises bookings
If you are a consumer and the contract was entered into entirely online, by phone, by message or otherwise away from our premises, you may have a statutory 14-day cancellation right.
If you ask us to begin the service during that 14-day period, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for work already completed if you later cancel. If the service has been fully performed during the cancellation period at your express request and with the legally required acknowledgement, the statutory right to cancel may end once the service is fully completed.
These cancellation terms do not replace any cancellation or refund rights you have under applicable UK consumer law.
VEHICLE CONDITION
Paint Protection Film is applied to the condition of the vehicle presented to us. Existing paint defects, stone chips, scratches, dents, corrosion, poor previous repairs, resprayed panels, loose trim, failing lacquer or other surface issues can affect the final result or the safe installation or removal of film.
Please tell us about known repainting, body repairs, ceramic coatings, existing PPF, vinyl, aftermarket bodywork or other relevant modifications before the work starts.
We may inspect and photograph the vehicle before work begins for condition records. If we consider a panel or component unsuitable for the requested service, we may recommend a different approach or decline to work on that area.
PPF INSTALLATION & FINISH
PPF is a protective film, not a repainting process. Its purpose is to help protect the underlying surface from common road wear such as stone chips, light scratches and minor abrasion. It cannot make damaged paint new again and it cannot guarantee that the vehicle will never be marked or damaged.
Film may be computer-cut, hand-finished or installed using a combination of techniques depending on the panel, material and required finish.
Small amounts of moisture, haze or temporary visual variation can be normal immediately after installation while the film cures. The appearance should be judged after a reasonable curing period and in normal viewing conditions.
Very small edge gaps, joins or relief cuts may be necessary where panel design, sensors, trim, vents, badges or safe installation technique require them.
AFTERCARE
Following appropriate aftercare is important for the appearance and longevity of the film. We may give you verbal or written aftercare guidance following installation.
As a general rule, avoid aggressive washing, picking at edges, strong chemicals or directing high-pressure water very close to film edges. If you notice lifting, contamination under an edge or another concern, contact us rather than attempting a repair yourself.
Damage caused after installation by accidents, impact, misuse, improper washing, third-party work, harsh chemicals or failure to follow reasonable aftercare instructions is not an installation defect.
WARRANTIES & REMEDIAL WORK
Any manufacturer warranty for film or other products is subject to the manufacturer’s own terms, exclusions and warranty period. Where applicable, we can explain the relevant product warranty for your installation.
If you believe there is an installation problem, please contact us promptly and give us a reasonable opportunity to inspect the vehicle.
Where our service does not meet the standard required by law, your statutory remedies remain available. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repeat performance or an appropriate price reduction.
PAYMENT & VEHICLE COLLECTION
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, payment is due in accordance with the payment terms provided with your booking or invoice.
Please arrange to collect the vehicle within the agreed collection window. If a vehicle is left with us substantially longer than agreed and this causes genuine additional storage or operational costs, we will contact you before applying any reasonable charge.
We may retain invoices, job records and payment information where required for accounting, tax, customer-service or legal purposes. Our handling of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.
LIABILITY & CONSUMER RIGHTS
We will provide our services with reasonable care and skill. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or rights and remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under consumer law.
We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not caused by our breach, negligence or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill, nor for problems arising solely from pre-existing defects or inaccurate information supplied to us.
We are not responsible for indirect business losses suffered by a consumer, such as loss of profit or loss of business opportunity, where the service was purchased for personal use and those losses were not reasonably foreseeable.
The previous version of this page contained a broad statement that PPF Guy was “not liable for any damages or losses incurred during the service”. That wording has been removed. These terms do not attempt to contract out of the legal duty to provide services with reasonable care and skill.
WEBSITE USE & CONTENT
Information on this website is provided for general information and to explain our services. Photographs and examples show previous work but do not guarantee that every vehicle or installation will produce an identical visual result.
Website content, branding, photography, text and design may not be copied, republished or commercially reused without permission, except where permitted by law.
We may update website content, prices, service descriptions and these terms from time to time. Changes will apply to future bookings and will not retrospectively alter an already agreed contract unless both parties agree.
GOVERNING LAW, COMPLAINTS & CONTACT
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also have mandatory rights under the laws applicable where you live.
If something is wrong, please contact us first and give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.
